Sri Lanka-Nepal to boost handicraft industry

The Sri Lanka National Crafts Council (SLNCC) in collaboration with the Handicraft Association of Nepal, plans to boost the handicraft industries in both countries said chairman of the Jathika Shilpa Sabha, Buddhi Keerthisena. The two institutes plan to sign agreements to promote trade and marketing and import of handicrafts. A mega scale handicraft exhibition of the South Asian region will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from November 22- 27.

Separate workshops and training programs are included. Eight handicraft artistes will participate in these training programs.

The participants will have the opportunity to learn new fashion designs using state-of-art technology to improve their handicraft industry by adding more creative and quality to their products.
