Innings win for Antonians

Right arm off spinner Dilan Bandara bowling to a tidy length captured a match bag of 12 for 53 to bowl St Anthony's College Kandy to an innings and 26 runs win over Vidyartha College in their schools under-19 cricket match conducted at Katugastota yesterday.

The Antonians win was on the cards after the first day when the visiting team was dismissed for 65 and replied with 171 for 7.

Dilan Bandara who is also a medium paceman opened the attack but switched to spin to bemuse Vidyartha's batsmen. In the first innings 6 for 27 and followed with 6 for 26 in the second innings. Vidyartha 65 all out in 30.4 overs (Sandamal Weerasinghe 25, Sandaruwan Weerasuriya 16, Dilan Bandara 6 for 27, Buwaneka Wijetunga 2 for 19) and 81 all out in 47.4 overs (K Jayasuriya 15, K Weerasinghe 11, N Perera 21, R Aravinda 21, Dilan Bandara 6 for 26, Buwaneka Wijetunga 3 for 26)

St Anthony's 171 for 7 dec. in 41.2 overs (Kanishka Uggalapaya 21, Damithra Panditharatne 21, Pawan Panditharatne 49, Dilan Bandara 24 not out, Chanaka Ratnayake 2 for 72, Sandamal Weerasinghe 2 for 32)
