High Commissioner and
Ambassador designates in Pretoria with South African President

High Commissioner Sarath Kongahage presented his credentials to
President Jacob Zuma as the High Commissioner Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka, at a ceremony held at the Sefako M.
Makgatho Presidential guest house in Pretoria, recently. While
presenting his credentials Ambassador Kongahage conveyed to the
President of South Africa, warm personal greetings from the President of
Sri Lanka and reiterated the robust ties that exist between the two
countries.
Following the presentation of credentials, President Zuma warmly
welcomed the newly appointed Ambassadors and High Commissioners to South
Africa and conveyed his good wishes to the respective governments and
the people.
Ambassador Sarath Kongahage is the 6th resident Ambassador of Sri
Lanka to the Republic of South Africa, since the setting up of the Sri
Lanka High Commission in Pretoria in 1997. |
