SLFEB blacklists errant employment agencies

The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) has blacklisted 874 foreign job agencies this year. Of them, 579 are functioning locally and the other 295 are operating abroad.

The Chairman of SLFEB Amal Senadhilankara said that 769 foreign job agencies that were blacklisted were given the permission to operate again after conducting extensive investigations.

"We do everything possible to help Sri Lankan foreign job seekers as they bring large sums of foreign exchange to the country.

Rs. 150 million would be spent annually to provide school equipment and to other welfare facilities to students whose parents are employed abroad said the Chairman.
