Damaged properties at Beruwala and Dharga Town repaired

Western Commander of the Army Major General Udhaya Madawela said that the field Engineers of the Army have completed 75 percent of repairs to the properties damaged during the clashes in Beruwala and Dharga Town in June this year. They had spent Rs. 90 million through the estimated cost was Rs. 110 million.

He said the whole project was due to be completed this month if rains didn't hamper its progress. He said the work had been done in a transparent manner and all materials for the work had been purchased from traders in the area.

He also said, among the damaged buildings were two mosques in Adikarigoda and Welipenna and some Buddha statues on the road side, which were all repaired and restod to their original status.
