Helmets only with proper standard

Proper standard in the manufacture of motorcycle helmets will be decided on.Helmets must be sold and worn accordingly, said Secretary to the road Safety Council of the Ministry of Transport Chathura Umangaliya. The Consumer Affairs Authority has prepared the proper procedure of manufacturing helmets according to SLS quality standards.

After issuing the Government Gazette Notification on specific standards of manufacturing helmets, the sale and use of helmets that are not manufactured to expected standards would be illegal and would not be allowed. However, a relief period would be granted to use helmets that are already in use, Chathura Umangaliya said.
