Abans 1H revenue tops Rs 18b

Abans had a strong second quarter this year, with its electrical and
retail companies showing a growth of 16% over the previous year.
The growth includes its central airconditioning and transport
companies. Growth in its transport section was 96%, Air conditioning
products - 14.64%, consumer electronics - 12.75%, IT products - 24.23%,
sanitaryware - 121% and communication products - 23.9%.
The company continues to make big advances in consolidating its
position in IT products representing Apple, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba,
LG and Panasonic.
The marketing of Hero motorcycles which was launched two years ago,
today enjoys the number two position for its products in Sri Lanka.
Abans Central Air Conditioning Division representing Mitsubishi,
Trane and LG continues to have one of the largest turnovers of any air
conditioning company in Sri Lanka.
Abans has spent heavily on refurbishing and renovating its showroom
network, enhanced its SCM and POS Systems and continues to be one of the
largest retailers of IT and communication products in Sri Lanka.
Abans Finance too increased its profitability by 33% this year. The
Rs.18.87 billion revenue for the first half of the 2014-15 financial
year excludes, its restaurant, security, cleaning and affiliated
businesses. |
