Epson to increase presence in Lanka

Epson the world leader in digital imaging technology reiterated its commitment to focus on the Sri Lankan market.

On the sidelines of enVision - a technology carnival showcasing the latest in world-leading digital imaging solutions for home, office, business and beyond a briefing was conducted on the latest developments, products and plans that the company has for Sri Lanka.

Company officials said the focus would be on InkTank printers and on projectors, for the home and for the office and also POS printers for retail applications and garment printers for the textile industry.

The printer market worldwide is experiencing a paradigm shift which is being driven by Epson and its innovative InkTank technology. This shift is now beginning to take shape in Sri Lanka too, a company official said.

For years, the consumer in Sri Lanka has been critical of the high cost of cartridges and as a result there was a massive shift to third party ink tanks, refills and compatibles. Epson addressed this issue and tackled the consumers directly.

The launch of genuine InkTank printers by Epson (L series and M series printers) has enabled customers buying printers to look into the key aspect of lowest cost per page and the lowest total cost of ownership extremely favourably.
