Rani Ponnamperuma's exhibition of Buddhist paintings titled Nivana
Dhammapada will be held at the J.D.A. Perera Gallery, Colombo 7 today
from 7.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Rani Ponnamperuma, born into a Catholic family, has transformed
herself as a Buddhist. She said the Dhamma helped her to fulfil an inner
personal need. This need came about due to immense personal suffering
she had experienced in life.
Her paintings depict her inner personal convictions. The inner peace
that she obtained through the Dhamma enabled her to see her own self
better.
The paintings have been sketched entirely through a new methodology
she has devised with the help of the computer. |
