Pineapples in coconut lands

Pineapple cultivation is to be commenced on a large scale on coconut lands in Kurunegala and Puttalam districts, according to a scheme to be worked out by the NWP agriculture ministry.

This would increase income from coconut land and help provide more employment and income to unemployed villagers. This industry can bring a return of over twenty times the investment in three years, the NWP agriculture ministry sources said.
