Dhammika holds 19 SL weightlifting records

Meepe Mohottige Dhammika Harischandra of Sri Lanka Air Force is one leading woman weightlifter at present. She has established 19 Sri Lanka records at different weightlifting contests and following are the details.

. At the National Weightlifting Contest in 2014 held at the Welagedera Stadium, she established 3 Sri Lanka records.

. At the National Weightlifting Contest in 2009 established 2 Sri Lanka records in Snatch 71 kgs Clean and Jerk 81 kgs and total 152 kgs.

. At the 38th National Sports Festival, established 1 Sri Lanka record.

. At the 1st South Asian Games held in Nepal established 2 Sri Lanka records (clean and jerk 88 kgs and total of 158 kgs)

. At the Defence Services Meet in 2012, she established 3 Sri Lanka records.

. 2012/13 Nationals she established 3 Sri Lanka records.

. At the 40th National Games 1 Sri Lanka record

. At the National Championship in 2014 established 2 Sri Lanka records in Clean and Jerk 97 kgs and total lift of 172 kgs.

. At XX Commonwealth Games Trials she established a Sri Lanka record of Lifting 98 kgs in Clean and Jerk.

. Dhammika Harischandra has won the National Title in her weight class for the 14th consecutive year.

. She is an old girl of Hurikaduwa MMV and in school, she did Athletics, Netball, Volleyball, Baseball and Cricket. She started weightlifting in 2003 from Kandy YMCA under the coaching of Athula Wijewickrama, the former National Coach in weightlifting.
