Lamindu Rainika New Junior Golf Champ 2014

Lamindu Rainika is the winner of the Sri Lanka Open Golf Championship title for 2014. Playing very steady golf right through and totaling a score of 244 (81+83+80), Lamindu won by 11 strokes over runner - up H.Prashan Lakshitha who carded an 87 in the final round totaling 255.

Sathsara Dilshan with an 81 final round totaling 239 for the three rounds won the Silver Division for ages 11 to 14 years and showed in potential as a name to be reckoned with in the future golfing scene of Sri Lanka. He was 12 strokes ahead of young and upcoming Taniya Minel who recently came third in a Junior Golf event in India.

She too will be a name to watch out for in the years to come. Prima Sunrise, the main sponsor has supported this event over the last 7 years and the Sri Lanka Golf Union is hopeful of reaching out to more youngsters to take up this game which is today considered one of the fastest growing sports, especially in Asia.
