Special security network during Pope's visit
The Police Department will deploy 23,000 police
personnel to provide security to Pope Francis 1 during His visit to
Sri Lanka on January 13. A Special Security Unit by the Police
Department has been set up in this regard. The Police Department has
already deployed five DIGs, 17 SSPs, six SPs and 1500 IPs and SIs.
