Rs 150m for flood-affected people

Due to the recent unfavourable weather conditions and flooding, 15,061 persons and 4,415 families in the Kurunegala district were badly affected.

The government had released Rs. 150 m to help the victims and Rs. 50 m would be paid to paddy and vegetable farmers in the Kurunegala district, to cover up their losses due to weather conditions. District Secretary, H.M.P. Hitisekara, told the Sunday Observer that members of the Armed Forces did a remarkable service during the inclement weather to help those affected.
