Wariyapola Duruthu perehera on January 23

The annual Duruthu Perahera of historic Wariyapola Raja Mahaviharaya in Kurunegala will be held on January 23.

Most Ven. Thumbulle Seelakkandha Thera, the chief Sanganayake of the NWP and the chancellor of Bikshu University of Anuradhapura who is the chief advisor of annual Perehera Committee told the 'Sunday Observer' that this annual cultural event is held for the 33rd consecutive year and it would be held on a grand scale with tuskers and elephants.
