New Chairperson and Directors at ICTA
A new Chairperson and a Board of Directors have been appointed to the
Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) with
the change of Government.

The new Board consists of Chairperson Mrs Chitranganie Mubarak,
Managing Director Muhunthan Canagey, Dr Ajith Madurapperuma, Ananda
Wijeratne, Upul Kumarapperuma and Chanuka Wattegama.
Mrs Chitranganie Mubarak, a BSc. Honours Graduate from the University
of Colombo. She worked at ICTA, heading the e-Society Program of the
e-Sri Lanka Development Project for almost nine years, before joining a
senior management position at SLIIT. She was instrumental in
conceptualising and launching close to 250 projects, with wide ranging
development outcomes some of which have received international
recognition.
Outgoing ICTA, CEO Reshan Dewapura concludes his tenure at ICTA after
almost 12 years.
Canagey will take over responsibilities from Dewapura.
With the appointment of Muhunthan, the Government hopes to widen the
role of ICTA in the public and private sector, initiating and
implementing the national ICT policy, while also contributing to
reforms, innovation and creating new opportunities for the local ICT
industry. |
