ComBank set up branch in Chankanai


Commercial Bank’s Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer S. Renganathan opens the Bank’s Chankanai branch accompanied by senior officers of the Bank.

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon opened its 241st branch in Sri Lanka at Chankanai in Jaffna, enhancing its presence in the Northern Province. The new branch at Ponnalai Road, Chankanai was opened last week by the Bank's Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer S. Renganathan.

It is equipped with an automated teller machine that is linked to 608 other ATMs of Commercial Bank in Sri Lanka, and to millions of ATMs of the MasterCard, Maestro, Cirrus, Visa, Plus, Amex, Discover and Diner's Club networks worldwide.

Known for its busy marketplace, Chankanai is a town 12 km north-west of Jaffna.

The people of the town are predominantly agriculture based and are gradually moving towards commercial activities.
