Ekanayake adds two more feathers to his cap
 Award-winning wildlife photographer Surgeon Rear Admiral Lalith
Ekanayake of Sri Lanka Navy won the Photographic Alliance Great Britain
(PAGB) Gold Medal at the 40th Smethwick International Exhibition of
Photography 2015 Great Britain and Photographic Society Singapore (PSS)
Gold Medal at the 61st Singapore International Photography Awards in
2014.
Ekanayake won the ISF Gold Medal at the 3rd Taiwan International
Salon of Photography 2014 and WAHP Silver Medal at the 1st International
Salon of Art Photo Carpathian Drag 2014 In Serbia. Also two of his
photographs have been highly commended at the "Digital Photo Archives
2014" competition in Ireland.
He also won the prestigious UPI Gold Medal twice in the past few
years and won the First Prize and the title of "Sanctuary Wildlife
Photographer of the Year 2013" in India.
A few of his other exhibits were Runner-up at the Wexas International
Competition in UK 2012, Bronze Medal at the Trierenberg Super Circuit
Austria 2013, Silver Medal at EMPA in India, Diploma in Le Catalan in
France 2014, Honourable Mention at the Oasis Competition in Italy 2012
and 2013, First Place at the Chaaya-Wild Etisalat Photography
Competition 2012, PSSL Bronze Medal and Special Mention at the 57th PSSL
competition 2012 and Honorable Mention - National Wildlife Federation
Photography Competition 2014 USA.
 His work has been exhibited in over 25 countries and twice his
pictures were selected as the Editor's choice, Photo of the Month and
Photo of the Day at the National Geographic Competition 2011 and 2012.
He has been a finalist for the past few years at the Natural History
Museum Photography Competition in UK.
Most of his achievements have been first ever of a Sri Lankan to do
so.
Ekanayake had two solo wildlife photographic exhibitions in 2010 and
2013 in Colombo along with publication of two coffee table books The
Untamed Road and Animal Verses:

(Aus), AFIAP is the Medical Director of the Sri Lanka Navy and also a
Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist and Consultant in Diving and
Hyperbaric Medicine, for which he is the foremost specialist in Sri
Lanka.
