Prof. Rajiva Wijesinha brooks no nonsense

State Higher Education Minister Prof. Rajiva Wijesinha said that he has complained to President Maithripala Sirisena of the interference he faces in performing his ministerial duties.

"The President wants to resolve the issues faced by me in the Ministry. He has already referred the matter to the Minister of Higher Education, Kabir Hashim and I hope the President would discuss the issue with the Minister and ensure smooth working of my Ministry. Minister Kabir Hashim is a politician of impeccable record," the Minister said.

Prof. Wijesinha said that he has great respect for the President and appreciates his right approach to several issues.

''The President is committed to good governance and I trust others in the Government too would follow suit'', he said.
