Teldeniya Education Zone shines in arts

The Teldeniya Education Zone won thirteen places at the All Island Arts Competition held last year. Out of thirteen, two winners were awarded for the Prakashana art and other eleven got the trophies for the collage arts.

Additional Director of Education Malani Abeysinghe said that the children won these places with some difficulties as the zone doesn’t have adequate teachers for the art subject. In Service Advisors for the art subject Piyal Weerasekara and Wasantha Kumari have supported in a number of ways to achieve these places by giving guidance to the teachers of the schools who developed students’ skills. She said that the students will get more places in future if they are provided the latest technology and equipment to develop their drawing.
