Navy in 29-13 win over Police

Navy Sports Club moved to the top of the Dialog 'A' Division League rugby tournament with a hard-fought 29 points (three goals, one try, one penalty) to 13 points (one goal, two penalties)win over Police in their second round match played at Welisara yesterday after leading 13-6 at half time.

Navy's Fijian Number Eight Eramasi (two tries), hooker Achala Perera (one

try) and Fijian centre Leo (one try) scored the tries for the Sailors with Nuwan Hettiarachchi converting three tries and also firing across a penalty. For Police, their South African player, David Richards put over two penalties while their solitary try was scored by scrum half Sudam Suriyaarachchi with fly half Apisai Naqaliva adding the extra points.
