Colombo University launches new Economics programs
The Department of Economics, University of Colombo will inaugurate
postgraduate and extension programs of 2015 on Saturday, March 7 at
10.00 am at the New Arts Theatre of the University, Head of the
Department, Prof. Ven. W. Wimalaratana said.
Country Director, World Bank for Sri Lanka and Maldives, Ms.
Francoise Clottes will be the chief guest.
A lecture on "Fall of the West and Rise of Asia: Where is Sri Lanka?"
will be delivered by Prof. of Economics of Colombo University Sirimal
Abeyratne.At present, the Department of Economics offers PhD and MPhil
degree programs in Economics, three Masters degree programs in
Economics, Financial Economics, and Tourism, and two Postgraduate
Diplomas in Economic Development, and Tourism and Hotel Management, and
three Diplomas in Business and Financial Economics, Travel and Tourism
Economics and Micro Finance. The academic year 2015, has attracted over
450 students to the programs.The Department extends its invitation to
