UN Under-Secretary-General for
Political Affairs, Jeffery Feltman met President Maithripala
Sirisena. Feltman is in Sri Lanka on a four-day visit and
will meet senior officials of the Government, political
parties and civil society groups to discuss issues of mutual
concern.
Gates were installed at the railway
crossing near Batuwatte Railway Station yesterday. Minister
of Home Affairs, Joseph Michael Perera was the chief guest

The Bloemendhal Oil Terminal which
was one of the most profitable institutions under the
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, is a loss-making entity today,
after being converted to a private company a few years ago,
under the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. Here its employees
demand its revesting under either the Ceylon Petroleum
Corporation or the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

R.L. Clement will hold his 32nd
annual Mal-Mee Cake show today at the Devon Rest, Kandy.
Clement and his daughter Shanika with their pupils will
present another show on March 7 and 8 from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00
p.m. at the BMICH.
