Etisalat relaunches e-learning platform
Etisalat Lanka, re-launched its self-learning platform Web Patashala
to provide an easy and convenient self-learning tool for key subjects of
the Grade 5 scholarship and selective subjects for the GCE Ordinary
Level (O/L) and Grade 7 to 9 examinations.
Web Patashala is an e-learning platform that enables students to
obtain the best interactive class room experience at their own pace and
in a cost effective manner.
SAC forum for exporters
The Shippers' Academy Colombo (SAC) has organised a business forum on
Wednesday at the Kingsbury Hotel at 4 pm to bring awareness to the
industry of the latest status of Sri Lankan exports with the ongoing
dialogue with European Union (EU) on GSP+.
Sri Lanka enjoyed the GSP+ benefit from July 15, 2005 to August 15,
2010 for 7,200 export products to the EU market which has nearly 500
million consumers. The apparel industry was the number one beneficiary
of the export products.
JKH opens trading at CSE
John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) opened trading on the Colombo Stock
Exchange (CSE) on Thursday.
This was the first in a series of Market Opening ceremonies, which
will feature companies from the S&P SL20 index.
As the company with the highest Market Capitalisation and one of the
largest listed conglomerates, John Keells Holdings initiated this
tradition.
Chairman, John Keells Holdings, Susantha Ratnayake, Deputy Chairman
Ajit Gunewardene, Group Finance Director Ronnie Peiris and President and
member of the Group Executive Committee, Krishan Balendra were also
