ISO certification

Sierra IT awarded ISO 9001:2008 :

Sierra Information Technologies Ltd (Sierra IT) has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Certification, recognising the company's commitment to the highest standards of quality and service.

According to a company official, the Sri Lankan owned global solutions provider offers a comprehensive range of IT solutions and has reached this milestone through quality, service and on-time delivery.

"We feel proud of our achievement. It is an endorsement of our ability to meet customer expectations," said Sierra IT Director and CEO, A. B. Sarath Herath.

"Just as much as we have put in a lot of effort in achieving this goal, we greatly appreciate the cooperation extended by customers," he said.

"Our achievement further demonstrates the Sierra IT team's dedication to quality, standardised process for clients," Herath added.

The ISO Certificate of Conformity was presented to Herath by Director General, Sri Lanka Standards Institution, Dr. L.M Seneweera at the Ramada, recently.

The ISO 9001:2008 certification was achieved via a rigorous six-month evaluation and revision of Sierra's quality management and process systems.

The certification bears testimony to the organisations dedication in delivering quality design and installation of enterprise network solutions, data network solutions, voice network solutions, software development and medium and low voltage electrical power systems, printing and providing imaging solutions including project implementation, testing and commissioning.


Asia Siyaka obtains ISO certification:

The Sampling Department of Asia Siyaka Commodities PLC has obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification which supports the company to provide quality service to tea buyers.

The Colombo Tea Auction handles around 6.8 million kilos of tea per week comprising 12,500 lots of eight brokers from three elevations.

Low country accounts for 60 percent of Sri Lankan tea production. Our prime markets are major oil producing countries such as CIS-Russia, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Libya.

Asian Siyaka handles over 1,800 tea lots per week and distributes more than 250,000 tea samples to the trade on a weekly basis.

Accuracy and the time of delivery of tea samples to the buyers by brokers, play an important part to enhance the price realised by tea producers.

Asia Siyaka is confident of optimising the best possible price to their valued tea producers by achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification.

The company launched operations in 1998 led by a team of industry professionals and is today a leading player in tea, rubber and commodity broking.

Asia Siyaka will construct a state-of-the-art tea logistics centre at Wattala with over 11,000 square feet of prime space with computerised racking system. The company also obtained ISO 9001:2008 in 2003 and HACCP/ ISO 22000 in 2012.
