‘Give our money back’ demo in Jaffna

The Association of Heavy Vehicle Owners of Jaffna staged a protest demonstration last week in Jaffna town, demanding the return of their monies deposited with the “Maheswary Trust Fund” under the care of a powerful former minister from Jaffna.

They carried placards that read; “We want Rs.20 million back" and “We were deceived, want our money back,” before handing over a petition to the Office of the Chief Minister of the Northern Province, the Governor's Office and at the Jaffna Government Agent's office.
