CDB contributes towards IT literacy
Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) recently presented an
IT laboratory as part of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) project, Pariganaka Piyasa to Kadayamotte Sinhala Vidyalaya,

CDB Pariganaka Piyasa enhances IT literacy among students islandwide.
The donation marks the eighth such laboratory provided by CDB to schools
worth over Rs. 1.2 million.
"IT literacy has become a vital part of education," said Deputy
Principal, Kadayamotte Sinhala Vidyalaya, Lesley.
"Up to today, the children of our school have not had access to the
Internet. However, thanks to the gift from CDB, we can ensure that our
children are exposed to this vital skill. CDB's generosity will not
benefit our schoolchildren but also the entire community of
Madarankuliya."
DGM, IT, Imdaad Naguib said, "This is our eighth IT laboratory
project to enhance IT literacy across the country. IT skills are vital
to gain a foothold in the workplace."
"Our CSR strategy is to focus on a vital issue - that is, giving the
youth the skills they need to strengthen their employability. Through
Pariganaka Piyasa, we hope to enhance IT education among rural youth, to
broaden their minds and give them the tools to survive in the
workplace," he added. |
