Culinary Art Food Expo

The 16th Culinary Art Food Expo 2015 will take place from July 24-26 at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre. It is organised by the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka with the support of professional exhibition organisers, CDC Events.

This culinary art event held on the theme 'From Shelf to the Table' will have two segments, a culinary art competition and a trade exhibition on hospitality, food, processed food and packaging. There will be over 150 stalls displaying products and services.


NCC workshop on serving clients

A one-day workshop on 'Winning Ways to Serve Clients' will be held on Thursday from 9.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m at the National Chamber of Commerce (NCC) auditorium, D. R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.

The target audience is front-line staff who come into contact with customers, sales support staff, trainees and receptionists. Presenting a professional image is of utmost importance for front-line staff whatever capacity they are as they are the first contact with the public and clients.

 


ComBank promotes entrepreneurship

The Commercial Bank's on-going initiative to promote entrepreneurship development across the country by empowering micro, small and medium enterprises with the knowledge they need to grow, was recently extended to Hingurakgoda, the largest division in the Polonnaruwa district.

Organised by Commercial Bank's Hingurakgoda branch with the assistance of the Bank's Agriculture and Micro Finance Unit (AMFU) in Hingurakgoda, the program benefited 125 agri entrepreneurs. They were provided information on developing their ventures.

The program was conducted with the support of the Central Bank and CIC Agri Business. Officials of the Central Bank conducted a financial literacy program covering various topics.


ComCredit's debenture issue

Commercial Credit and Finance PLC's (ComCredit) issue of 10 million rated, subordinated, guaranteed, redeemable five-year debentures at a par value of Rs. 100 each was oversubscribed on the opening day. Interest on the debentures will be paid at a fixed rate of 10.50% per annum (AER 10.92%) on the principal sum quarterly each year. The issue opened on Thursday.

The debentures will be listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. The Bankers to the Issue are Hatton National Bank PLC. The Trustee to the Issue is the Bank of Ceylon. Lanka Rating Agency Ltd has assigned a long term rating of 'AA' to the debentures.


Laugfs opens car service centre


Laugfs opened a state-of-the-art car service centre at Havelock Town recently. It is fully equipped to provide a complete range of services.
