Bambalapitiya

A man has been nabbed by the CID sleuths while purchasing gift vouchers to the value of Rs. 5000 from a super market at Samudra Mawatha, Bambalapitiya, using the electronic data of Nation Trust Bank (NTB) card holders.

The suspect was produced before Hulftsdorp Magistrate and remanded till May 28.

Grandpass

Colombo Crimes Division has arrested a woman, a resident of Grandpass with 102 grams and 110 miligrams of heroin in her possession at Navagampura in Grandpass police area on Friday evening. She will be produced before the magistrate on Monday (25) and further investigations will be carried out by the Narcotics Bureau.

Wennappuwa

Wennappuwa police has raided an illicit brewery at Nainamadama and arrested a man with 25920 drams of moonshine in 12 barrels. The suspect is from Waikkal. He was released by the police.
