CCC SCHOOL OF CRICKET victorious
The 8th Annual Cricket Series between C. C. C. School of Cricket and
the touring "Imtiaz Ahmed C. A. from INDIA, played for "Imtiaz Ahmed -
Nelson Mendis" Challenge Trophy saw the CCC School of Cricket retaining
the Trophy for yet another year, when they dominated the Series, wining
seven matches and losing only one.
The under 14 team won all four encounters while the U - 12 team won
three and lost one. The visiting Imtiaz Ahmed Cricket Academy coached by
former Pakistan National Cricketer, Veteran Imtiaz Ahmed found the
experienced and talented CCC teams hard to beat, though some matches had
very close finishes.
VIKAR AHMED, the Coach on tour, addressing the gathering at the
Awards Presentation Ceremony, said that the extreme hot & humid
conditions didn't help his players, but promised to bring a stronger and
fitter team next year.
NELSON MENDIS, addressing the visitors spoke about the 17 years old
friendship he has developed with Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed and advised the young
cricketers to follow them and initiate and develop friendships among one
another for stronger bonds in the future.
He said that making a good friend from your opponents is as good as
making a century against them.
Parents of both the visiting and host teams gave away the awards to
the winners and the best performers, while the main award the "Imtiaz
Ahmed - Nelson Mendis" Challenge Trophy was given away by Mr. Vikar
Ahmed, son of Imtiaz Ahmed and was received jointly by two captains of
CCC, Thevindu Senaratne (U - 14) & Muthaar Nasir (U - 12) |
