NCCSL workshop on agriculture

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) with the Agribusiness Centre of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya will conduct a mini workshop on ‘Commercialisation of Innovations in Agriculture’ on Tuesday, June 23 from 1.30-4.30 p.m at the Chamber auditorium.

The objective of the workshop is to create awareness of the innovations and advanced technology available for agriculture and commercialising the sector.

 


HNB introduces seven-day banking

Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) has introduced ‘seven-day banking’ to better serve customers around the country.

HNB Customer Centres in major towns, including Wellawatte, Kotte, Maharagama, Negombo, Kurunegala, Kandy City Centre, Galle, Ratnapura, Trincomalee, Anuradhapura and Jaffna Metro, will be open on all seven days of the week for the convenience of retail banking clients.

The introduction of ‘seven-day banking’ complements HNB’s extended banking hours, Saturday banking and Sunday banking services, available at 42 locations within and outside Colombo.


Dialog to provide fast network to schools

Dialog Axiata has teamed up with the Ministry of Education and the National Broadband Initiative (NBI) of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) to connect ICT labs of leading schools in Colombo and the suburbs with high-speed 4G LTE and the company’s islandwide fibre network.

This initiative will provide students with seamless access to the internet for educational purposes using the information superhighway.


Airtel receives upgraded certifications

Bharti Airtel Lanka, a telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, has completed a stringent audit process for the upgrading of certification for ISMS (Information Security Management System) and the surveillance of BCMS (Business Continuity Management System) thereby receiving the upgraded standard - ISO 27001:2013 for ISMS and ISO 22301:2012 for BCMS.

Airtel Lanka achieved this accreditation after a rigorous assessment process which symbolises its commitment towards service excellence and the strength of measures that the company has taken to ensure the quality of services which include voice and data solutions across its islandwide network.

Russel’s receives CMC award


The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC), through its Public Health Department recently carried out a survey to identify the hygienically maintained catering units. A few catering units including Russel’s (Pvt) Ltd which were up to standard received awards from the CMC.
