Old Peterites, Old Bens and Old Anthonians win

Old Peterites, Old Bens & Old Anthonians (Over 35 Years) registered there first win in the Inter-School Masters Basketball Tournament organized & conducted by the Masters Basketball - Sri Lanka at the Mercantile Cricket Association Basketball court. The results of the matches played are:

Old Bens beat Old Senanayakians by 59 points to 49 points at the final whistle. The losers led by 25 points to 24 points at the short whistle. The chief scorers for the winners are Asanga Perera - 30 points & Pushpe Chamara - 15 points while the chief scorers for the losers are Duke , Ranil & Uditha scored 10 points each.

In another match in the same age group Old Peterites received a Walk-Over from Old Sebastians.

At the final game for the day Old Anthonians had an easy walk against old boys of Colombo International College and beat them by 74 points to 30 points at the end of the game. The winners led by 41 points to 16 points at lemons. The chief scorer for the winner were Maxwell Saranapala - 32 points, Vijay Basker - 22 points & Chaminda Perera - 18 points. The chief scorer for the losers are Ruan Dayananda & Himam Cader 14 points each.

Old Sokians, Old Peterites & Old Senanakians (Over 35 Years) beat Old Joes, Old Devans & Old Christonians respectively on the second day of the same tournament played at the same venue.

Old Sokians beat Old Joes by 63 points to 38 points after leading by 36 points to 16 points at half time. The chief scorers for the winners were Nalinda Ajith - 24 points, Nuwan Indika - 20 points & Thilanka Roshan - 15 points and the chief scorers for the loser are Praven Ferdinandz, Lional Gunawardena & Dinesh - 10 points each.

Old Peterites took the lead from the blow of the first whistle to beat Old Devans by 69 points to 35 points after leading by 56 points to 18 points at the short breath. The chief scorers for the winners were Jithendra - 30 points, Gayath - 20 points & Tharanga - 15 points and the chief scorers for the losers are Nalaka & Dias - 15 points each.

Old Senanakians beat Old Christonians by 44 points to 20 points after leading by 21 points to 06 points at the lemon break.

The chief scorers for the winners were Dimithri Ramaneshwara, Duke Rajapakshe & Asela Perera - 14 points each while the chief scorers for the losers are Srinath Perera & Thilakarathna - 10 points each.

Matches were refereed by Jayantha Karunaratne, Basil Silva, A. Javahir, C, Joseph, M. Rizvie, Dimithi Ramaneshwara & Jayanthan Jeevaratnam.
