SLFP Mahinda faction supports 20 A

With the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution on electoral reform running into a snag, the SLFP Mahinda faction said that they would support it.

When asked for their stance on the proposed 20th Amendment on electoral reform, SLFP Mahinda faction spokesman, Ranjith de Zoysa told the Sunday Observer that they would support it but the Government of President Maithripala Sirisena should first mobilise the support of all their allies.

Introducing the electoral reform to rid all election-related corruption is one of the primary election pledges of the Government and it is the Government’s bounden duty to have it passed in Parliament, Zoysa said.
