Anandians to host Olcott memorial cricket tourney

The 16th annual Sir Henry Steel Olcott memorial cricket tournament among the Old Boys of eight leading Buddhist schools in the Island will be held from August 21 to 23 at the Colts Ground, Havelock Town in Colombo.

The eight teams participating are Ananda, Nalanda, Dharmaraja, Dharmapala, Dharmashoka, Maliyadewa, Mahinda and Rahula Matara.

A six-a-side cricket tournament will also be held simultaneously among the present cricketers of these schools.

The Sixes tournament will be held under the patronage of former national cricketer and Old Anandian Anuruddha Polonnovita.

Kithsiri Liyanage, the principal of Ananda College,Colombo will be the Chief Guest at the old Boys cricket tournament.

This time the Old Boys cricket tournament will be hosted by Old Anandians headed by Arjuna Ranatunge. A get-together followed by dinner will be held at Rock Gardens, Modera commencing at 8.00 pm after the first day's play.
