wOw.lk goes trilingual

wOw.lk, an online shopping mall, recently set the bar in the e-commerce industry again, by being one of the first e-commerce websites in Sri Lanka to connect with customers in all three local languages, Sinhala, Tamil and English.

The upgraded wOw.lk trilingual website will enable the company to break language barriers and connect more effectively with customers online.

Since its launch in 2011, wOw.lk has been a force in the e-commerce industry and has harnessed the power of the internet, to provide customers with convenient and affordable online shopping experiences. By offering a diverse range of products and special offers on a trilingual platform, wOw.lk will reach, inform and engage with a broader segment of Sri Lanka's diverse society, a company spokesman said.

With the introduction of the Sinhala and Tamil languages to the website, wOw.lk which has established itself as a market leader in the urban sector, will strategically expand its presence further to key suburban and regional markets which have a high potential.

The trilingual website will ensure that wOw.lk's complete online shopping experience is significantly more accessible to all Sri Lankans.

Chief Executive Officer, Digital Commerce Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., the company that owns and operates wOw.lk, Sheyantha Abeykoon said, "When wOw.lk first started its journey in Sri Lanka four years ago as a daily deals site, we were the first company to offer a trilingual platform, however, we later decided to operate an English website to capture all key urban markets. We are proud to go back to our roots again by incorporating the use of Sinhala and Tamil throughout our website."

"As a company, we have always been committed to ensuring that the benefits of e-commerce are enjoyed by all segments of society, and our trilingual website will enable us to drive inclusivity and ensure greater levels of customer engagement and satisfaction," he said.
