Karate bronze for Harinda Fonseka

Harinda Fonseka won a Bronze Medal at the World Wadokai Karate Do Tournament held at Nagoya, Japan in the under 84kgMen's Kumite event. Japan won the Gold Medal followed by Northern Ireland winning Silver and France winning the Bronze.

The national Wado Kai Karate team participated in the Wado KaiWorld Cup held in Japan on August 15 and 16.More than 50 countries participated in the event which is held every five years.

The Sri Lanka Wado Kai Federation was started in 1989under the guidance of Sensei E.L. Jayasiri P. Perera (Chief Representative and President).

Four members who participated in the event also passed the International Black Belt examination in Japan.They were Tarik Jayasuriya (2nd Dan), Harinda Fonseka (1stDan), Themiya Gaminitilaka (1st Dan) and Jathurshan Pradeepkumar (1st Dan).
