Sri Lanka weightlifters contest Asian and Commonwealth meets

Seven weight lifters including two women will represent Sri Lanka at the Asian Championships which will be held from September 3 to 12 in Thailand while a further three will represent the island in the Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in Samoa from September 1 to 10.

Weight lifters for Asian championship:

55 kg weight class - J.A.C.Lakmal (Army) and E.A. Egodawatte (Navy)
65 kg weight class - T.M.K. Dissanayake (Navy) and

Chinthana Vidanage (Navy)

94 kg weight class - K. A. C. T. S. Abeykoon (Army)
105 kg weight class - A.G.S. Abeywickrema (Army)

Women:

48 kg weight class B.D.S. Gomes (Air Force)
69 kg weight class B.C. Priyanthi (Navy)
