Vivekanandan re-elected president
Former sportsman Shivantha Vivekanandan was re-elected uncontested as
president of the Deaf School Past Pupils' Association, School for the
Deaf, Ratmalana for the 14th successive year at the 66th annual general
meeting held at the Stanley Hall in Ratmalana recently.
Vivekanandan who is an outstanding person, is the current president
of the Sri Lanka Deaf Cricketers' Association.
He played a major role in promoting leather ball cricket in Division
III organised by Sri Lanka Cricket as well as the foreign tours to play
leather ball cricket matches in Deaf Asia Cricket Cup tournaments.
He is a senior Vice Chairman, Deaf Asia Cricket Council and a
committee member, Deaf International Cricket Council.
He represented the Deaf Recreation Club, Rajagiriya at cricket,
athletics and table tennis where he won a number of trophies and awards.
