Look to the left,
Look to the right,
See all of us smiling,
So happy and bright!
"Why are we smiling?"
You ask right away.
The answer is easy!
We are at school today!

Five lost mittens

1 lost mitten that was red and blue
Found another mitten and then there were 2.

2 lost mittens feeling wild and free
Found another mitten and then there were 3.

3 lost mittens wishing there were more
Found another mitten and then there were 4.

4 lost mittens, while taking a little dive,
Found another mitten and then there were 5.

5 lost mittens looked around and then,
Each one found it's mate and that made 10!

Until we built a cabin

When we lived in a city
(three flights up and down)
I never dreamed how many stars,
Could show above a town.

When we moved to a village,
Where lighted streets were few,
I thought I could see all the stars,
But, oh, I never knew...

Until we built a cabin,
Where hills are high and far,
I never knew how many, many
Stars there really are!

Why?

Why do you rush, wind,
Wherever you blow,
Pushing things out of your way as you go -
Tossing the leaves,
This way and that,
Messing my hair and stealing my hat,
Shaking the trees,
Making kites spin -
As if there's some race,
That you're trying to win?
Some day I'll chase you to see where you blow,
And why you're in such a big hurry to go.

Snowball

I made myself a snowball,
As perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas,
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night it ran away,
But first it wet the bed!
