31 schools contest new Div 2 format

Thirty one teams in four groups will contest the Singer Trophy Under-19 division one inter school cricket tournament this season.

Three groups will have eight teams and one group seven teams.

Four teams from each group will move to the second round and play in the pre-quarter final knock-outs with each match played over two days.

The semi finals and final will be played as three-day matches.

Group 'A' - Carey College, St. John's College Jaffna, Sri Sumangala College, Sri Pragnananda MV Raddoluwa, Sri Dharmaloka College, Vidyartha College, Debarawewa National School, Kingswood College

Group'B' - Revatha College, Siri Piyarathna MMV, Kalutara Vidyalaya, St.Xavier's College, S.De.S. Jayasinghe MMV, St. Thomas' College Matale, Sri Devananda College, St. Anthony's College Katugastota

Group'C' - Wesley College, Sri Jayawardenapura MV, St. Thomas' College Matara, Asoka Vidyalaya, Devapathiraja College, Kegalu Vidyalaya, Tissa Central College, Karandeniya Central College

Group'D' - St. John's College Panadura, Taxila Central College, P.De S. Kularatne MV Ambalangoda, Rahula College, St. Sebastian's College Katuneriya, St. Anne's College, St.Mary's College Kegalle-(YK)
