Janashakthi General Insurance won the Hema Wijeratne Challenge Trophy
2015 at the inter-insurance company six-a-side cricket tournament
organized by the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII) at the NCC Ground
in Colombo recently. Amana Takaful PLC were the runners-up for the
second successive year. MBSL Insurance Company was adjudged the best
cheering squad and Ceylinco General Insurance won the best decorated
tent title.
Organized as part of the SLII's vision to create a social forum for
its members, this year's event was a huge success according to
organisers with the active involvement of senior representatives from
the industry.
Fourteen teams including a joint team from the Sri Lanka Insurance
Brokers' Association took part in the tournament where teams kept aside
their business rivalries and fraternised in the spirit of sportsmanship.
Chief guest Nihal Senaratne -Chairman, Senaratne Insurance Brokers
and past President SLII, gave away the awards together with Thusitha
Nandasiri - President, SLII, Sanjiv Keerthiratne -immediate past
President SLII and Prakash Schaffter - immediate past President,
Insurance Association.
