Colombo British School wins golf prize



The British School team of Darren Hall, Armand Flamer Caldera, Vinod Weerasinghe, Sachin de Silva and Kyle Ortiz who won the title

Students at the British School in Colombo claimed the top prize at the recent NDB Inter-school Golf Championship worked off on September 6 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

The Championship is said to be the most prestigious inter-school golf tournament with over 100 leading golfers from schools taking part.

The British School team of Darren Hall, Armand Flamer Caldera, Vinod Weerasinghe, Sachin deSilva and Kyle Ortiz won top prize with a score of 107 points.

The team also won additional prizes with Darren Hall winning the "Nearest the Water on the first hole" and Armand Flamer Caldera winning "Longest Drive on 15th hole and "Nearest the Pin" on the fourth hole.

The School's principal, Dr Scarth, said: "I am very proud of our team. They played exceptionally well and I am delighted that the British School has won this prestigious trophy".
