Dear children,

You all will be the focus of attention on October 1, when Sri Lanka celebrates Children's Day. This does not mean that children should be forgotten on other days. The UN has declared that every country should celebrate the occasion on a special day. It is important that parents, carers and teachers take good care of children so that they will not be subject to abuse and mistreatment.

We wish all children a happy and enjoyable 'Children's Day'.
