South Africa back with a vengeance
South Africa came back with a vengeance to demolish Samoa 46-6 in
their World Cup rugby match last night shedding the worries of an
opening defeat at the hands of Japan a week ago.
But it was not until the second half that the South Africans broke
lose from a 17-6 score to make it 29-6 midway into the session.
Winger Petersen was responsible for two of the four tries which kept
the Samoans under control. The Samoans were poor in the ball handling
while the South Africans retained possession as much as they were
allowed to.
In the end it was so easy for the South Africans as Petersen scored
his third try followed by Habana ending the contest with another try.
Earlier at another group match Italy held their nerve to overcome a
battling Canada before winning 23-18. |
