Sharp growth in Huawei smartphone sales
Huawei reported an increase of 300% in sales growth in 1H, FY15,
making it the best year in terms of sales volume since its smartphone
operation was launched in 2012. According to IDC, Huawei smartphones
enjoy a market share of 18%.

A company official revealed that over 50% of its sales in Sri Lanka
are in the Western Province, followed by the North and the East - 21%,
Central - 17% and Southern - 16%.

According to the German market research company, GfK, Huawei has
surpassed Samsung and Apple to achieve the largest market share in the
China market, recording a market share of 12.9%, 13.6%, 14.1% and 15.2%
in March, April, May and June.
In 1H, 2015, Huawei Consumer BG shipped 48.2 million smartphones,
representing a year-on-year increase of 39%, while global smartphone
demand has recorded only a 7% growth in the corresponding period
according to GfK. |
