A company official revealed that over 50% of its sales in Sri Lanka are in the Western Province, followed by the North and the East - 21%, Central - 17% and Southern - 16%.

Country Head, Huawei Device Sri Lanka, Henry Liu said, "Sri Lanka has grown to be one of the key geographies in the South East Asian region for Huawei. We remain committed and will continue to invest further in the country, offering customers and stakeholders an experience which is truly inspiring".

"Huawei has always been a customer centric innovator, offering a quality product, design and experience which are aligned with human behaviour. The brand thrives on technological breakthroughs which are inter-connected with life.

We are committed to offer the best option that will truly inspire all individuals, not only one segment as we believe everyone should be empowered through technology," he said.

Marketing Manager, Huawei Smartphones Sri Lanka, Stanley Mascarenhas said, "We hope to increase our distribution network to 30 by 3Q, FY15 and to 50 by 2Q, FY16. This will make Huawei one of the most accessible smartphone brands in Sri Lanka. With the aggressive distribution focus we will ensure our service will be of excellent quality."

The exclusive distributorship with Singer is a perfect choice with its extensive reach and retail network, he said.

According to the German market research company, GfK, Huawei has surpassed Samsung and Apple to achieve the largest market share in the China market, recording a market share of 12.9%, 13.6%, 14.1% and 15.2% in March, April, May and June.

In 1H, 2015, Huawei Consumer BG shipped 48.2 million smartphones, representing a year-on-year increase of 39%, while global smartphone demand has recorded only a 7% growth in the corresponding period according to GfK.
