SriLankan Airlines in 'Cecil Honour Roll'

SriLankan Airlines has been listed in the 'Cecil Honour Roll' by international aviation magazine, Air Transport World (ATW) for banning the carriage of wild game and hunter trophies on-board its flights from August 18.

SriLankan Airlines in a statement said, "The Airline shall refrain from the carriage of game and hunter trophies or any part of an animal killed in the wild or listed as endangered or protected. Neither does it endorse or condone such activities." The Airline is currently reviewing its policy on the transport of flora and fauna, which will be publicized soon.


Symposium

The Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management in Sri Lanka (A-PAD SL) will hold a symposium in Jaffna tomorrow, October 5.

The symposium convening the private and public sectors with a focus on the private sector of the Jaffna district will be held at the Tilco, Jaffna City Hotel on the topic 'Public-Private Partnership towards Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development' to encourage a self-sufficient, community-based disaster risk reduction in the district.

The fortification of businesses in disaster will be the central theme and foreign delegates from over six countries of the Asia Pacific will be present.

 


Hotel, Hospitality & Food Asia 2015

The third edition of Hotel, Hospitality & Food Asia, South Asia's international food, hotel supplies and services exhibition will be held from October 16-28 at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre in Colombo.
