Dear children,

This week we have some information on the Maritime Museum in Fort, Galle. Sri Lanka which was known as Ceylon was famous for trading and was also on the Silk Route. Many traders came to buy spices. Sri Lanka was on this trade route and the sea was the only mode of travel at the time. The Maritime Museum has some of the artefacts collected during this period. Visiting the Maritime Museum is worthwhile if you go to Galle.
