Counting down to Janaka's Jim Reeves
With radio shows in UK and Australia:
With just a few days left for the much awaited Jim Reeves Show,
internationally known Janaka Palapathwela, is being sought after by
radio shows across the world.
Last
Sunday, Janaka was interviewed on UK hit radio program 'The
Inspirational Voices' which also played his songs for 45 minutes. The
program was hosted by highly acclaimed Jillian Haslam and Alan Cox. He
was also on '6EBA World Radio' Brunch Time program, which is one of the
most popular programs in Australia, hosted by Gordon Stacy, Laura and
Michael. On popular demand, in the following week, he was also featured
on a repeat program on the same channel titled 'The Goan Show' hosted by
Delfino, Harvey and Charmaine.
On a request by the fans unable to attend the concert in the UK,
Australia and Holland, among other countries, a special video edition of
the live programme will be done, as a production of the NCCSL.Janaka
Palapathwala's 'The Jim Reeves Show' will be held at the Bishop's
College Auditorium from 6.00 p.m. on October 11. The show is being
organised in association with the National Christian Council of Sri
Lanka (NCCSL), to raise funds to sustain the many programs carried out
by the Council.
Janaka will be performing a host of Jim Reeves' hit songs including
'Welcome to my world' 'Blue side of lonesome', 'Bimbo', 'Mexican Joe'
and 'He'll have to go'. Music will be directed by Suresh Maliyadde and
the orchestra conducted by Naveen Fernando while the back-up vocals will
feature Choro Calibre.
Tickets for 'The Jim Reeves Show' are available at Bishops College
Auditorium, Torana Liberty Plaza, Yamaha Music Centre and Cioconut
