Ex-Nalandian is new MCA chief

Old Nalandian Niran Mahawatte from NDB Bank was unanimously elected as the 39th president of the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) at its 98th Annual General Meeting held on September 28.

Mahawatte,who took over from Gamini Wickremasinghe had been with the MCA Executive Committee since 2001 while Nalin Wickramasinghe from Commercial Bank is the new General Secretary.

A new face in the Committee is Tharinda Kaluperuma from Stafford Motor Company who came in as a Firm Representative.
