Cinnamon Hotels launch Colombo City Excursions

Cinnamon's City Hotels - Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo and Cinnamon Red with Nature Trails, the wildlife and adventure tourism arm of Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, launched 'Colombo City Excursions', a package that wraps experiences in and around Colombo for travellers interested in discovering the hitherto unknown sites and sounds of the city.

Head of Eco Tourism, Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, Chitral Jayathilake said, "We wanted to give city travellers a different experience at our three differently themed hotels which also cater to different budget levels and individual needs.

As interpretation of experiences is important, we have organized six excursions. We hope to add another six to the program soon." There are two nature based excursions, namely a bird watching excursion to the Thalagama Lake and a river cruise down Kelani river.

There is also the architectural tour and religious and historic tours. The specialty of the excursion will be the food offered to the travellers.

As a hospitality chain that takes pride in culture, tradition and all things Sri Lankan, the move to create memorable experiences within the city for guests is an opportunity to open the country's diversity to the world and enhance the lifestyle experiences of city tourists, he said.

Mainly promoted with the in-house guests and tour groups, the partnership would promote the brand and the country, Jayathilake said.
